QPSMR/Telin Configuration

Integration is performed at multiple levels:

Telin / Dialler communication

The interviewer client application – Telin – integrate via a socket message interface over an IP Lan or VPN. They perform the following operations

  • Logging an interviewer onto the dialler for a specific Survey/Campaign and set up a voice path to the interviewer’s audio device (handset/softphone)
  • The dialler responding to the login request with a set of call completion codes specific to the survey.
  • Telin informing the dialler that it has selected a respondent record to preview
  • Telin informing the dialler to dial a respondent telephone number. In this case, the interviewer can hear the call progressing through the public network
  • Telin coding of failed preview calls with an appropriate outcome (e.g. busy, no answer).
  • Telin coding appointments for preview and predictive call.
  • Telin coding of complete, incomplete and rejected interviews for preview and predictive call.
  • Telin informing the dialler that the interviewer is ready to receive a dialler/Predictive call.
  • The dialler informing Telin that it has connected the interviewer to a newly connected dialler call. The dialler returns the Serial ID of the respondent record so it can be retrieved by Telin
  • The dialler informing Telin of a call state change.
  • Logging off the interviewer.

Telin Configuration (For call centre admin/super staff)

Firstly, each telin station needs to be configured to nominate the address (number) of the associated telephony end point. This is done using an application supplied by QPSMR called Extension_Number.exe. This is usually located in the “Program Files (x86)/NetMR Ltd” directory.

Next the QPSMR shared project file must nominate the dialler address and port (default 7000), and activate the PDS button. This can be done through the “Companion” application, under the “Project/Global settings” menu item.

Campaign Creation

The dialler also integrates with QPSMR at a CATI Campaign Management level:

  • Dialler campaigns are automatically created when the dialler detects a new <CampaignName>_Sample.csv file in the QPSMR Project directory space. The new campaign will be populated with sample from the <CampaignName>_Sample.csv file.
  • The Dialler presents live Quota report information in the CATI Campaign Management interface.
